The Crossroads of African Cultures (CCA) is a non-profit organization under the 1901 Law, founded in November 2017 following the closure of the African Museum. Located within the International Missionary House in Lyon, the CCA is part of the culture of dialogue and encounter, promoted by the Society of African Missions (SMA).
Our values and objectives
Building bridges between cultures and people to facilitate living well together is our commitment to everyone, particularly to young people.
The values of living together are as relevant today as they were yesterday! Living together means doing things together, changing together; it’s a source of joy and creativity.
The arts of African peoples convey these values, universal values, testifying to their encounters with the cultures of the world.
This also means promoting this borderless cultural heritage at the heart of our cultural projects in France and internationally.
Our activities
The CCA’s cultural programming is organized around three areas:
- Meetings: conferences, roundtables, symposia, seminars
- Events: exhibitions, concerts, demonstrations
- Documentation: Library, archives, publications, outreach
